There's a bend on the Little Sugar Creek Greenway where the water goes perfectly still about twenty minutes before sunset.
I'd scouted it twice and both times the light was wrong. On the third evening I brought a thermos, sat on the tailgate, and simply waited.
When it finally turned, it turned all at once — the whole creek bank went to gold and rose, and I had maybe ninety seconds. This is the frame I kept.
